SEND & Inclusion

Introduction

The information contained within this section of our website forms our SEND Information Report . This report - which is part of Durham County Council’s Local Offer – provides details about how we support children and young people with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities in our schools.

The SEND Information Report for the Durham Dales Federation was reviewed and updated in March, 2024. It will be monitored on a termly basis through the established school systems and reviewed by the school SENDCo and Senior Leadership Team. The SEND Information Report will be ratified by the Governing Body, after consultation with representative members of our whole school community.

Our Ethos

At the Durham Dales Federation, we recognise that all pupils are entitled to a quality of provision that will enable them to achieve their potential. We believe in positive intervention, removing barriers to learning, raising expectations and levels of achievement and working in partnership with parents, extended families and other agencies. This ensures that we can provide a positive educational experience for all our pupils, including those with a special educational need or disabilities. We strive to ensure that all pupils, regardless of their additional needs, make the best possible progress.

This policy was produced after consultation with parents/ carers, children and the governing body of the school.
